Overview

A bioactive setup is an enviroment that is self sustaining and reduces the need for constant cleaning, however the other side to this coin is that the ecosystem needs to be maintained keeping the perfect balence of plants, clean up crews and enviromental factors.

This section will go over the basics of a bioactive setup, im no expert in this field but am working towards becoming better at getting the perfect enviroments for my animals. I am currently reading the arcadia collection of books about this subject and will update this page as i use different techniques.

My Current setups

In my current setups i have a mix of Psudo bioactive and non bioactive enclosures, by no means would i say that i have a fully bioactive enclosure but i have begun to use techniques to build myself up to a fully maintainable bioactive enclosure. In my perosnal opinion i would say getting to this stage is quite advanced husbandry as it requires all the features of maintaining the enclosure aswell as the animal husbandry.

I currently have a long tail lizard enclosure that i would call Psudo bioactive.
