Overview

During my online explorations, I've discovered several valuable websites and applications that simplify husbandry management and help in finding your next pet. Below, you'll find a curated list of these resources, along with brief explanations of their benefits.

Husbandry Pro -(Animal management)

This outstanding animal management application makes it easy to manage and scan tags directly from your phone. It allows you to efficiently track feeding and cleaning schedules, simplifying the care of your animals. Best of all, it's free to use for small collections! For larger collections, a yearly subscription is available at just £25 for up to 50 animals — an incredibly affordable price for the time and effort it saves. Say goodbye to scribbling notes and hello to seamless record-keeping with just a click of a button.

Morph Market - (Animal aquisition)

Welcome to an incredible platform dedicated to reptiles and invertebrates! This one-of-a-kind website connects pet shops and breeders, providing a friendly and convenient space to showcase and sell their animals. As a frequent user, I can confidently say the community here is outstanding—always helpful, knowledgeable, and ready to answer any questions you may have.

ColdBlooded - (Reptile/exotics social media)

This unique social media platform is dedicated entirely to reptile enthusiasts. Users can share photos of their animals, post reptile-related memes, and connect with like-minded individuals. While it’s a fun and engaging community, the platform does lack some of the advanced features found on larger social media networks. However, it’s a fantastic way to connect with others in the hobby, and it shows great potential for growth and improvement.

Tapo app - (Animal camera system)

This section focuses on camera systems, specifically affordable options like Tapo cameras. These compact devices seamlessly connect to a user-friendly app, allowing you to access live video feeds from anywhere in the world via a secure connection. They’re perfect for keeping an eye on your pets while you’re away, ensuring they’re safe and happy. Additionally, Tapo cameras are highly useful for monitoring cohabiting reptile species, helping you detect potential aggressive behaviors or conflicts that might otherwise go unnoticed. Key features include motion detection alerts, enabling you to receive notifications when movement is detected. For video storage, you have flexible options: save footage to the cloud with a paid subscription or use an SD card directly in the camera for local storage.

InkBird - (Animal heat/Humidity management)

Inkbird is an innovative tool for animal management, designed to let you control Inkbird products directly from a user-friendly app. It’s especially useful for managing thermostats in hard-to-reach places. With just a few taps on the app, you can quickly adjust temperature and humidity settings in seconds—no hassle, no fuss.

Mi Home

This application is connected to a dual temperature and humidity sensor, providing detailed graphs and statistics that track the conditions inside the animal's enclosure over a 24-hour period. It eliminates the need for a heat gun, offering a more efficient and time-saving way to monitor these crucial parameters.

LumenIZE

Arcadia has introduced an innovative new application designed to revolutionize UVB systems. Their latest range allows you to control and dim UV bulbs, making it a groundbreaking advancement in creating vivariums that closely mimic the natural day and night cycles of our animals' environments. In my opinion, this marks an exciting evolution in the hobby, setting new standards for advanced care. Personally, I plan to upgrade all my units to this system in the near future.

iNaturalist

This resource is an excellent tool for learning about the care requirements of various animal species. Simply type in the animal you’re researching, and explore sightings logged by people from around the world. These photos provide valuable insights into their natural habitats. Additionally, you can use the logged locations to cross-reference environmental data on platforms like Weather Spark, giving you a more accurate understanding of their surroundings.

Picture insect

This innovative mobile app lets you capture photos of insects and uses powerful AI to identify them instantly. It's perfect for outdoor adventures when you encounter an unfamiliar insect—simply snap a picture, and the app will do the rest. A must-have for nature enthusiasts and insect lovers alike!

onezoom.org

This real-time map of global weather systems provides quick and convenient access to essential weather data, making it an invaluable tool for adjusting your animals' thermostats with ease and precision.

responsiblereptilekeeping.org

This website is an incredible resource for reptile enthusiasts, dedicated to protecting the hobby from the influence of extremist animal rights activists who often spread misleading information and distort facts. They work tirelessly to promote responsible reptile care by providing accurate, evidence-based guidance to the community. As a true advocate for the hobby across the UK and Europe, they stand at the forefront of defending reptile keeping. If you're passionate about this cause, consider supporting their efforts with a donation—every contribution makes a difference to this important mission.

exoticskeeper.com

Exotics Keeper is a monthly magazine subscription packed with a wealth of information on a wide variety of exotic animals. It's definitely worth subscribing to or grabbing a copy at your local pet store—most are more than happy to order one for you if they don’t already have it in stock. Prefer digital? You can easily subscribe and read it online for added convenience.

weatherspark.com

This exceptional weather website offers a wealth of valuable information, including detailed graphs on local weather patterns. It's an invaluable resource for understanding temperature ranges, yearly daylight hours, and humidity levels in specific regions—perfect for researching the natural requirements of wildlife species in their native habitats.
